Farrah Fawcett, an American actor, artist, and model, best famous for her portrayal of 'The Apostle'. She was nominated at least six times for the Golden Globe Award and four times for the Emmy Award. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, the actress began her career by appearing in commercials. In addition, she appeared in guest parts in television shows such as 'I Dream of Jeannie' and the 'The Flying Nurse'. Her film debut was an appearance on the French comedy "Love is a funny thing. The film gained her international fame due to her iconic red swimsuit poster. It was the top-selling pin-up image in the history of film. In the following years she appeared on many other TV series and movies that helped establish her in the sex industry as an icon. In the crime drama show Charlie's Angels, she played an investigator. The show features three females work in an LA-based private investigator company. Besides playing glamorous roles as well, she was also known for her dramatic performances including the one of a battered wife in the TV film 'The Burning Bed. Her name was placed as number 26 on TV Guide's "50 Greatest TV stars of All-Time'. In 1989, aged 59, she was found to be suffering from anal cancer. The cancer died three years later.
